Magadh University is a public university located in Bihar, India. The university has been ranked as the best university in Bihar by India Today and Times of India. Magadh University has been granted with the status of Deemed University under section 3(1) of the UGC Act 1956.


Magadh University is one of the most prestigious universities in Bihar and it has been ranked among top 10 universities in India. It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses along with research opportunities to its students.


The fees structure for undergraduate courses are Rs. 12000/- per year while for postgraduate courses are Rs. 16000/- per year which includes all other fees like tuition fee, library fee, hostel fee etc.


Magadh University is looking to raise its fees structure for the next academic year. The university has projected a total cost of Rs. 1,01,097.


The Magadh University fee structure for the current year is Rs. 3500 per semester and Rs. 11000 per year with an annual fee of Rs. 5000 for students who are admitted through open merit and reservation categories only.


The new fees structure that Magadh University is looking at will be Rs. 4000 per semester and Rs. 12000 per year with an annual fee of Rs 5000 for students who are admitted through open merit and reservation categories only as well as those from other state universities or private universities in Bihar who have been given admission under the Bihar Private Universities Admission Policy (BPUAP).


Magadh College's Future Prospects with the New Structure


The Magadh College has undergone a structural change and now it is known as the Magadh University. The university has been rebranded to reflect the changing times.


Magadh University will have its own governing body, an administrative body and a governing board. The university will also have its own academic council, comprising of faculty members, academic staff and statutory members.


The changes that have been made are in line with the government's vision for higher education in India. The government is looking at creating more universities in India that can provide quality education at affordable rates to students from all sections of society.


Magadh College was established in 1866 as a primary school for boys but it started offering higher education courses in 1868. Magadh College was one of the earliest colleges of the city, which made it one of the oldest educational institutions in India.
